Viewbox™ is an image display and analysis program created at the University of Washington. The program is not yet finished, yet we think it can still serve as a valuable tool for a number of purposes. It provides a number of useful features unavailable in other image display programs. This is especially true for analyzing PET time series studies, which is what we had in mind when we designed Viewbox™. Some of the more unique features are Time-Activity Curve, simultaneous display of different colored images, PowerBook support, and quantitative contrast enhancement.
Since Viewbox™ is still a work-in-progress, there are a number of functions not yet completed. The Help… menu command lists those functions that do work in this version. The Reference Manual has detailed descriptions of the program's general features and each command. The manual was written using Microsoft Word™.
If you try to print image windows, you must have a color printer and request Color/Grayscale. This is the only serious bug we know of in Viewbox™, but the program will crash or print a big black blob if you try to print using a different printing configuration.
We are also including a ShareWare product that emulates a Floating Point Unit in software. This is very useful for computers, such as some PowerBooks, that do not have hardware math coprocessors. However, we are providing this software for your convenience only. We make no warranties about its correctness or workability. In addition, we have not paid any fees to the author to distribute the software, so you are still responsible for following the usual rules concerning ShareWare software.
